Measure B Bike/Ped Funding on BPAC Agenda
Next Wednesday, February 8, 2017, VTA’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will discuss draft guidelines for the 2016 Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. You're encouraged to attend the meeting or submit your comments and questions to VTA ahead of time.
Caltrain Seeking Volunteers to Join Bicycle Advisory Committee
Caltrain is currently accepting applications for its Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC), an advisory body comprised of nine volunteers from the three counties served by the rail agency. The BAC serves as the primary venue for the interests and perspectives of bicyclists to be integrated into the Caltrain planning process. This group brings new ideas for discussion and helps Caltrain guide its future investments.
San Mateo County Ends Active Transportation Coordinator Position
Just three years after SVBC worked to have San Mateo County create and fund their first ever Active Transportation Coordinator position, this position has unfortunately been terminated. We were so thrilled to bring county-level bike and pedestrian planning and project coordination to San Mateo County. Ellen Barton, whom many of you may have met or communicated with, filled the Active Transportation Coordinator role with grace and determination. In her two and a half years with the San Mateo County City/County Association of Governments (CCAG) and the County Office of Sustainability, Ellen was able to accomplish many things.
Three Openings on Campbell Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee
The City of Campbell Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee currently has three openings. The City is interested in having input on bicycle- and pedestrian-related issues from all segments of the community based on residential/business location, age, type of user, and interests. Applicant must live in Campbell and be at least eighteen years of age.
