Family Bicycle Workshop with Jim Beall

On Friday September 22nd, SVBC partnered with State Senator Jim Beall's office, Franklin-McKinley School District, San Jose Department of Transportation, and the Santa Clara County Traffic Safe Communities Network to provide a presentation on the importance on wearing a helmet and key safety tips for biking to school. The cafeteria quickly filled with families from the neighborhood and when the presentation ended free helmets were handed out to each student that attended. Close to 200 helmets were handed out to the participants and lines formed as each helmet was properly fit to each child's head. San José Bike Clinic also provided free bicycle repairs to the families and more than two dozen bikes were looked over and repaired to keep the students rolling to school!
