Action Alert: Support SVBC's recommendations to Santa Clara County Supervisors

Some of you may be familiar with the matter of $10.4 million that Stanford agreed to spend over a decade ago to mitigate the loss of trail access to the community. Now, it finally looks like that money is going to be distributed in a competitive grant program. Many proposals have been submitted, and many of them contain multiple projects.

SVBC has spent significant time looking the proposals over with our Policy Advisory Committee and Local Teams. On October 23, we sent our recommendations for prioritizing projects to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. Since the Sups have the power to pick and choose individual projects (and portions of projects) from the proposals, we were able to recommend a slate of projects drawn from several different applicants' proposals. Our recommendations were developed with input from many stakeholders. We valued projects that serve a recreational purpose (as stipulated in the grant guidelines) and serve the most people within the geographical area specified.

Please read our recommendations here. If you agree, please take a couple of minutes to write or call the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors to let them know you support Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition's October 23rd recommendations.
