Guadalupe River Trail off-limits next weekend
Construction of the Lower Guadalupe River Trail has been ongoing for several months. The City of San José Trail Manager is asking for your continued cooperation as they apply a final coating to the pavement on August 24 through 27 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday). Two coatings are to be added to the existing pavement during this period. A slurry seal creates a smooth riding surface. A “fog seal” waterproofs the pavement to minimize future pot holes and other damage that can shorten the project’s useful life.
During this time, any trespassing by cyclists will damage the surface. Such damage may require that they resurface the trail, which will delay its reopening. Please respect all closure signage and follow the posted detours. Work on the project between Highway 880 to Trimble Road continues for several more weeks with installation of decorative pavement, striping and signage. Please continue to use the detour until the project completion is announced
Frequent updates about the project are posted at http://www.sjparks.org/trails/ConstructionUpdates/ConstructionUpdates.htm and on Twitter at “SanJoseTrails”.
