SVBC volunteers help park and guard thousands of bikes at Stanford football games
Our friends at Stanford Football had a great season this year, but their accomplishments were not nearly as impressive as those of SVBC’s group of amazing Stanford Bike Parking volunteers. Through the course of six home games in heat, rain, and wind, a group of 68 remarkable volunteers led by Rob Robinson helped park and guard 5072 bikes, not to mention hundreds of strollers, skateboards and even one wheelchair.
Special recognition goes to Paul DeNies with 100% participation for the 2010 home season. Thanks also to June Welsh, Matthew Killkerr, Kermit Cuff, Jessica Chan-Cox, Maddie Kau, Cher Vercelli, Garland Lee and courier David Roise.
Guarded bike parking is one of the many ways SVBC encourages people to bike to public events. A safe place to park a bicycle not only encourages attendees to use their bike, but also reduces parking lot traffic for all event attendees.
Our most sincere thanks to all the volunteers who donated hundreds of hours to help us further our mission to promote the bicycle. We couldn't have done it without you!
