Riders route through Redwood City

On Saturday morning, 17 hearty riders met under the Redwood City sign to ride and collect notes on the good and the bad things about riding in this city of 80,000 in San Mateo County. This is one of a series of rides that San Mateo County cyclists have organized to highlight bicycle infrastructure, or the lack of it, in the county.

Woodside Rd. is a huge barrier for cyclists due to a number of factors like the Hwy. 101 undercrossing, the Middlefield Rd. undercrossing, and the lack of bike lanes on the roadway. Riders also toured the area along Blomquist Rd. This bayside route is sorely in need of a new surface and the train tracks also make for difficult crossings.

Check the map to see if you have any other issues to add. You can also join one of our future rides. Check the SVBC calendar for future rides.
