Tree Chopping by Bike

A couple weeks ago, I almost got in my car to drive to my friend’s house because I had some seedlings to deliver. After hemming and hawing, I decided to go for it. I loaded my bike basket with seedlings and took the train to Palo Alto. I was very proud of myself.

But that accomplishment was recently overshadowed when my friend texted me a picture of her family shopping for aChristmas tree by bike. She told me that they do this each year and have become known by the owner of the tree lot as the family that gets their tree by bike. Impressive! While some of us make excuses for why we can’t ride to the grocery store, or work, or to drop the kids off at school, Chris, Geneva, Bode and Teresa Gadda are showing us all up by carting their tree home on a bike.
